Marc Katz, DPM

Dr. Marc Katz received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicines in 1989. He did his residency in Little Rock, Arkansas and practiced in Chicago for 9 years. Dr. Katz moved to Tampa in 1998 and he currently has a practice in South Tampa. He also is an active physician at Memorial Hospital and Memorial Hospital Wound Center.

Dr. Katz was Board-Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in 1996 and by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics in 1993. He is a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association.

Dr. Katz prides himself on his genuine concern and compassion for his patients, as well as his friendly nature and excellent skills.

Dr. Katz treats all foot, ankle and leg problems. He has always had a special interest in wound and ulcer care, as well as diabetes. Dr. Katz regularly attends specialized courses where he advances his knowledge in wound care and "limb salvage", a specialty that uses all measures to help a patient avoid amputations and heal wounds and infections more quickly.

Heel pain is becoming more prevalent today and Dr. Katz has developed conservative treatment plans for quicker relief. One important component of the treatment for long-term relief includes creation of custom arch supports. Unlike most other practices, Dr. Katz is able to fabricate these custom arch supports in the office at the time of the patient's visit, so healing and pain relief can begin immediately.

Dr. Katz treats everyone with respect and spends the necessary time with each patient to ensure he/she gets relief. He takes the time to answer all questions while putting patients at ease.

"I believe that the key to good patient care is listening and relating to each patient on a personal level. Taking the time to really understand the problem and circumstances leads to faster relief and successful treatment."

"I want patients to feel comfortable in my practice and not feel that they are just a number. Often today in medicine, large groups rush their patients and forget that there is a person in front of them with a problem that needs special care. That will not happen in my practice!"
